Rekord Bielsko-Biała Rekord Bielsko-Biała only reached the 2024-25 season before Bielsko-Biała finally saw its first-ever city derby played at the same league level - against its long-standing, far more decorated neighbour, Podbeskidzie. The club was founded in 1994 in the Lipnik district of Bielsko-Biała on the initiative of Janusz Szymura, head of the software company Rekord, from which the club took its name. Although the association was initially built primarily around futsal, a traditional football section was also established under its umbrella in 1999, beginning its climb through the league system at the lowest amateur tier, Klasa C.
The football section's first notable success came in the 2007-08 season, when it won the Bielsko-Biała group of the regional Klasa Okręgowa. The following years brought steady, if unhurried, progress up the league ladder: in 2012-13 the team finished second in the Silesian group of the IV liga, and sealed promotion to the III liga with a penalty-shootout win over Górnik Piaski in a play-off match held on 30 June 2013 during the club's traditional Footballer's Day celebration, in front of more than a thousand spectators. Rekord went on to spend eleven consecutive seasons at the third tier, competing from 2016-17 onward in a group bringing together clubs from Silesia, Opole, Lower Silesia and Lubusz. The breakthrough came on 8 June 2024, when a 2-1 win over Górnik Polkowice sealed the club's historic promotion to the central level of Polish football - the II liga.
From the outset, the club's officials were also involved in building the structures of Polish indoor football - in 1994 they were among the founders of the national five-a-side indoor football league, and in 2010 the club's joint-stock company was one of the initiators of the Futsal Ekstraklasa, which, under an agreement with the Polish Football Association, still runs the national futsal championship today. Fielded by the same club, the futsal team went on to become the most decorated in Polish futsal history - winning its first medal, a runner-up finish, as early as the 1995-96 season, though it had to wait until 2014 for its first national title. From that point on, Rekord's futsal side came to dominate the domestic competition, claiming its seventh national championship in 2024, and across thirty years of uninterrupted participation in national competition has spent twenty-seven seasons in the top division and finished on the podium of the national championship fourteen times.
