Luka Stojković opened the scoring in the 31st minute, before Matteo Pérez Vinlöf doubled the lead two minutes later. Josip Mišić added a third just after the hour mark, in the 51st minute. Dion Drena Beljo, the club's leading scorer this season, extended the advantage in the 76th minute, and Lukáš Kačavenda completed the scoring in second-half stoppage time.
The result gives Dinamo Zagreb a commanding lead ahead of the second leg, scheduled for 11 August at the Darius ir Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas. Kauno Žalgiris had eliminated Drita and KÍ Klaksvík in the previous qualifying rounds to reach this stage.
