MTK Budapest are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the history of Hungarian football. Founded in 1888, the club have won 23 national league titles and played an important role in the development of Hungarian football during the first half of the 20th century. MTK also enjoyed success on the European stage, reaching the European Cup Winners’ Cup final in 1964, where they lost to Sporting CP after extra time. The blue-and-whites play their home matches at Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion, named after the legendary Hungarian international forward.
