Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe is a Romanian football club founded in 2011 in the city of Sfântu Gheorghe, capital of Covasna County in Transylvania, where the majority of residents belong to the Hungarian Székely minority. The club, closely tied to this community and financially supported by the Hungarian government, carries in its name an abbreviation of Sepsiszentgyörgy — the Hungarian name for its home city.
The team began competing in the fifth and lowest tier of Romanian football, which it won in its very first season. In the following years, Sepsi rapidly climbed the league pyramid, gaining promotion to Liga I — Romania's top flight — as early as 2017, just six years after its founding. It thus became the first team from Covasna County to play in Romania's top division, an event marked by a visit from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, underscoring the club's political significance for the Hungarian minority in Romania.
A historic moment in Sepsi's history came in the 2019–20 season, when the team reached the Romanian Cup final for the first time, eliminating Astra Giurgiu, Petrolul Ploiești and Politehnica Iași along the way, only to lose the decisive match to FCSB. Redemption came two years later — in the 2021–22 season, Sepsi won the cup final, defeating Voluntari 2–1, and successfully defended the title the following year, in 2022–23, with the same scoreline. As cup holders, the club also claimed the Romanian Super Cup twice, defeating CFR Cluj in the 2022 final and defending the trophy in 2023.
The team, playing in distinctive red and white colours and nicknamed the Székelys, played its home matches at the Municipal Stadium during its early years in the top flight, before moving in October 2021 to the modern Sepsi Arena, built largely with Hungarian funding and meeting UEFA's fourth-category requirements.
