SK Brann (Sportsklubben Brann) is a major institution in Norwegian football, deeply tied to the identity of Bergen and the country's western coast. Founded on 26 September 1908, the club was established by local sports enthusiasts. The iconic red and white colours have traditionally represented the team, earning them the well-known nickname 'Rødtrøyene' (The Red Shirts).

Since 1919, the club's home ground has been Brann Stadion, situated at the foot of Mount Ulriken. Over its history, SK Brann has won the Norwegian top-flight league title 3 times (1961–62, 1963, and 2007) and has lifted the Norwegian Football Cup 7 times. Prominent figures who have played for the club include prolific striker Thorstein Helstad, midfielder Kjetil Rekdal, and international forward Tore André Flo.

The club's most notable European achievement came in the 1996–97 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, where SK Brann reached the quarter-finals after defeating Shelbourne FC and PSV Eindhoven, before being eliminated by Liverpool. Another highlight was reaching the Round of 32 in the 2007–08 UEFA Cup.

Today, SK Brann continues to compete in the top division of Norwegian football, the Eliteserien.
