Dundalk FC Dundalk FC have been one of the Irish clubs to make the strongest impact on European football in the modern era. Founded in 1903 in a town close to the border with Northern Ireland, the club has won domestic league titles and spent long periods among the leading sides in Ireland. Its most memorable modern chapter came in the second half of the 2010s, when Dundalk repeatedly reached the group stages of European competitions. The 2016/17 Europa League campaign was particularly historic, as the Lilywhites became the first Irish club to earn points in the group stage of the competition. Their traditional home is Oriel Park.
