St Patrick's Athletic FC emerged from the working-class Dublin district of Inchicore and has grown into one of the capital’s best-known football clubs. Founded in 1929, The Saints have won Irish league titles and FAI Cups, with much of their identity tied to Richmond Park. Set among the surrounding urban streets, the stadium gives home matches an intimate and distinctly traditional atmosphere. The red-and-whites remain an important part of Irish football and have regularly represented the country in European qualifying campaigns.
