Brøndby IF Brøndby IF, founded in 1964 through the merger of two local clubs from the suburbs of Copenhagen, is the most important project in the history of Danish club football. The Yellow-and-Blues are multiple champions of Denmark, with their greatest achievement remaining the historic UEFA Cup semi-final in the 1990/91 season, when they lost 1-2 on aggregate to AS Roma. That result permanently inscribed Brøndby in the annals as the only Danish club to reach such an advanced stage in UEFA's main competitions.
Brøndby play their home matches at Brøndby Stadion, a venue built in the 1960s and repeatedly modernised with European nights in mind. Supporters call it Vilfort Park in honour of the club's legend, Kim Vilfort, who was a cornerstone of the team in its best years.
