Beitar Jerusalem Beitar Jerusalem, founded in 1936 by activists of the Revisionist Zionist Beitar movement (established by Ze'ev Jabotinsky), remains one of Israel's most recognisable, yet also most distinctive, football clubs. A six-time national champion (including a league double in 2007/08) and eight-time State Cup winner, the club is notable for its strong, traditional association with the political right — its supporters have included prime ministers Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Olmert.
The club remains the only one in the Israeli Premier League never to have fielded an Arab player — a characteristic unique in world football and widely covered by international media, including the acclaimed 2016 documentary "Forever Pure."
The Yellow-and-Blacks play their home matches at the roughly 32,000-capacity Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem, named — not without irony given the club's political profile — after the city's left-leaning mayor, Teddy Kollek.
