On 20 August 2026, AS Monaco defeated Górnik Zabrze 3–2 away at Stadion im. Ernesta Pohla in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff round. The French side made a strong start and took the lead in the 9th minute, when Mika Biereth finished with a low shot after an assist from Mathys Detourbet. Monaco doubled its advantage shortly after the break, with Lamine Camara making it 2–0 in the 51st minute. Górnik responded almost immediately as Erik Prekop pulled one goal back in the 53rd minute. Paris Brunner restored Monaco's two-goal advantage with a header in the 58th minute, but Górnik continued to fight for a result and Sondre Liseth reduced the deficit again in the 74th minute. The hosts were unable to find an equaliser, however, and Monaco secured a valuable 3–2 away win before the return leg in Monte Carlo. The result gives the French side an advantage ahead of the decisive second match.
