Frosinone Calcio Frosinone Calcio is an Italian football club from the Lazio region whose history dates back to 5 March 1906, when it was founded under the name Unione Sportiva Frusinate. After being wound up by the Italian football federation on more than one occasion, the club was refounded in 1959 and again in 1990 — it is from this latter date that today's Frosinone Calcio structure descends, having had to start competing from the fifth tier of Italian football.
The breakthrough in the club's history came in the 2014–15 season, when, under coach Roberto Stellone, Frosinone secured promotion to Serie A for the first time in its history, beating Crotone 3-1 in the decisive play-off match. Since then, the Ciociari (a nickname referencing the Ciociaria region) have won promotion to Italy's top flight three times in total — in 2015, 2019, and in 2023, when they won the Serie B championship.
The yellow-and-blues play their home matches at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, opened in 2017 and named in honour of the father of the club's long-serving president, Maurizio Stirpe, who financed the ground's construction. The team's previous home was the historic Stadio Matusa, abandoned once the new arena was built. In the 2025–26 season, Frosinone were promoted from Serie B once again, continuing their history of oscillating between Italy's top two divisions.
