CF Estrela da Amadora have experienced a remarkable cycle of success, decline and rebirth. The club from the Lisbon suburbs reached its greatest moment in 1990, winning the Taça de Portugal after beating Farense in the final. Financial problems eventually brought down the original organization, but a new project was launched in 2020 to revive Estrela’s football identity. The tri-colours subsequently climbed back into professional football and returned to the Primeira Liga, restoring the club’s place among Portugal’s elite. Their home is Estádio José Gomes.
