On 11 August 2026, Hapoel Beer Sheva secured a 3–0 aggregate victory over Crvena zvezda in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round at Rajko Mitić Stadium in Belgrade. The Israeli side won the match 2–0, having taken a 1–0 lead from the first leg in Beer Sheva a week earlier. The result marked Hapoel's first-ever qualification for the Champions League play-off round.
Igor Zlatanović opened the scoring in the 61st minute, assisted by Javon East, giving Hapoel a commanding position on aggregate. The second goal came in the 79th minute when East converted from close range after a pass from Eden Peretz. Crvena zvezda, despite dominating possession with 68% of the ball, were unable to break down the Israeli defence.
Hapoel defended resolutely throughout, limiting the Serbian champions to few clear chances. The match was attended by 42,000 spectators and officiated by Spanish referee Jesús Gil Manzano. The victory represented a historic milestone for Hapoel Beer Sheva, who will now face the winner of Olympiakos–Qarabağ in the play-off round.
