Stade Brestois 29 represents the Breton port city of Brest and is one of the region's most distinctive football clubs. Founded in 1950, the red-and-white side is known as Les Pirates (The Pirates). For much of its history, Brest moved between the top two divisions before enjoying a remarkable breakthrough in recent years. The club achieved its first-ever qualification for European competition, marking one of the greatest moments in its history. Brest continues to play at Stade Francis-Le Blรฉ, a ground closely connected with the city.
