Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino FC Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino is a Belarusian football club founded in 1961 in the town of Zhodino, located near Minsk. Since its founding, the club has remained closely tied to the local heavy vehicle manufacturing plant — the legendary producer of giant mining dump trucks, BelAZ, whose name has become permanently attached to the club's own. The team has competed under three names to date: as BelAZ Zhodino from 1989, as Torpedo Zhodino from 1993, and under its current name, combining both historic titles, since 2011.
Even during the Soviet era, competing in the championship of the Belarusian SSR, the team won the title four times — in 1970, 1971, 1980 and 1981, establishing a strong footballing tradition in the town, although the club has never managed to win the championship of independent Belarus. The team plays its home matches at the Torpedo Stadium, opened in 1969, thoroughly renovated in 2011 and holding over 6,500 spectators; in 2021, the venue hosted an international friendly between Belarus and Honduras.
A turning point in the club's history came in the 2015–16 season, when Torpedo-BelAZ won the Belarusian Cup for the first time in its history, defeating BATE Borisov — until then the country's most decorated club — in the final, thereby earning its debut in the UEFA Europa League. The club claimed a second cup triumph in the 2022–23 season, again beating BATE Borisov in the decisive match, securing its place in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying. As cup holders, Torpedo-BelAZ also won its first-ever Belarusian Super Cup in 2024, defeating Dinamo Minsk 4–3 on penalties.
In recent years, the club has regularly finished among the leaders of the Belarusian Premier League, including a third-place finish in the 2024 season, which again earned it a place in European competition. Although Torpedo-BelAZ has never won the championship of independent Belarus, the club today remains one of the country's most stable and consistently developing sides, deeply rooted in the industrial identity of Zhodino.
