Lech Poznań demolished FC Thun in the Europa League qualifiers. Lech made an impressive start to the 2026/27 Europa League play-off round, defeating FC Thun 7:0 at Bułgarska Stadium on August 20 and taking a huge advantage into the second leg.
The hosts set a high tempo from the opening minutes. In the 10th minute, Patrik Wålemark opened the scoring, while ten minutes later Allahyar Sayyadmanesh doubled the lead. In the 25th minute, Wålemark scored his second goal of the evening but was later forced to leave the pitch due to a minor injury. Mateusz Skrzypczak and Radosław Murawski then found the net, sending Lech into half-time with a 5:0 lead.
After the break, the Poznań side continued to control the match. In the 47th minute, Daniel Håkans scored the sixth goal after receiving a pass from Sayyadmanesh. The hosts created further chances, while the visitors' only goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
In the 79th minute, defender Robert Gumny completed the scoring after an assist from Michał Gurgul. "Guma" showed the instincts of a natural number nine, calmly finishing the move with a lob. Lech Poznań ultimately won 7:0, displaying impressive efficiency and complete control of the match.
