Kuopion Palloseura, known worldwide as KuPS, is one of the most successful football clubs in Finland. Founded in 1923 in the picturesque, lake-surrounded city of Kuopio, the team has worn its yellow-and-black colours (Keltamusta) for over a century, standing as the pride of the Savo region.
The club's true renaissance began in 2019, when KuPS ended a 43-year title drought. The club reached even greater success — in 2024 KuPS won the first double in its century-long history, claiming both the league title and the Finnish Cup, then defended the championship in 2025 to secure an eighth title overall. After the 2024 season the head coach departed for Sweden's Djurgårdens IF, with a new manager taking over.
The 2025/26 season brought another historic milestone — KuPS reached the UEFA Conference League league phase for the first time in the club's history. KuPS play their home matches at Väre Areena.
