Sabah FK stands as one of the fastest success stories in modern club football. Founded only in 2017 in Masazır, near Baku, and known to fans as "Bayquşlar" (The Owls), the club rose from the amateur leagues to the Azerbaijani title in under a decade. After a sensational runner-up finish in 2022/23, further milestones followed: in June 2025 Sabah won their first major trophy, the Azerbaijan Cup, and on 30 April 2026 they sealed the club's first-ever league championship, ending the long-standing hegemony of the mighty Qarabağ, twelve-time national champions.

The key to that rise was a carefully judged transfer policy combining experienced foreign players with talented young Azerbaijanis, backed by stable financing and modern club infrastructure. Sabah play their home matches at a stadium in Masazır holding just under 9,000 spectators, opened in 2014. The historic title has opened the door to regular European football, including clashes with sides such as Bulgaria's Levski Sofia and Serbia's Partizan Belgrade.

From showman to Sabah key player, the Polish defender conquers Azerbaijan and the Internet

Tymoteusz Puchacz was considered a colorful but football-unstable figure for years. After dynamic club changes in Germany, Turkey, Greece, and England, the left-back finally found the desired stability at Azerbaijan's Sabah Baku. While many viewed his move to the Azerbaijani league as a step backward, the decision turned out to be a spot-on move.

Puchacz became a pillar of the team, winning both the championship title and the Azerbaijani Cup with Sabah. His stellar performance (2 goals and 12 assists) prompted the club to buy him out and offer him a three-year contract. The Polish international plays regularly, has rebuilt his form, and competes in European competition qualifiers.

His off-pitch activities are drawn with as much attention as his on-field plays. Puchacz undeniably holds the title of the biggest influencer and showman among Polish footballers. He is famous for his uncompromising style, love for fashion, hip-hop music, and distinct social media presence. Taking part in the popular web show "Sabotażysta" and numerous guest appearances with online creators have only solidified his strong position in pop culture.

While many athletes avoid the spotlight, Tymoteusz Puchacz seamlessly blends athletic professionalism with personal branding, standing out as one of the most recognizable Poles online.
