FC Magpies is a Gibraltarian football club founded in 2013 by a group of friends who used to meet for drinks at Bruno's Bar & Restaurant โ€” hence the club's original name. The team borrowed its nickname, The Magpies, directly from England's Newcastle United, referencing that club's distinctive black-and-white colours.

In its first two seasons, the team achieved respectable mid-table finishes in the Gibraltar Second Division, with Mick Embleton serving as the club's first manager, instrumental in organising and building the squad. A turning point came in the 2015โ€“16 season, when the club secured sponsorship from local real estate agency Chestertons, paving the way for the club's professionalisation โ€” the team finished fourth that season and also reached the Second Division Cup final.

A key moment in the club's history came after Davie Wilson took over as manager in October 2016 โ€” the former Gibraltar national team assistant coach led Bruno's Magpies to a historic promotion to the Gibraltar Premier Division, the territory's top flight, via a play-off victory over Manchester 62. The 2018โ€“19 season brought the club its first major trophy, winning the Second Division Cup, although by that point the club was already competing in the top league.

The team plays its home matches at the territory's only professional football venue, Victoria Stadium. In subsequent years, the club shortened its name to FC Magpies, and in June 2025 it merged with Calpe City, forming a new entity that will continue operations under a changed name from the 2026โ€“27 season onward. Despite lacking major international honours, the club remains one of the more recognisable teams in Gibraltar's modest but steadily developing football scene.
